Hello My Name Is...

Karla DeCoster

Math Instructor
Courses: College Algebra, Calculus, and Consumer Math

This year students will be given the opportunity to expand their knowledge and challenge themselves in mathematics. These challenges can be meet with hard work, patience and perseverance. I am always willing to help the students before and after school (7:30- 7:55 and 3:05 - 4:00) if they have questions that I am unable to get to during class.

Our Calculus course may be taken for dual credit through Johnson County Community College (JCCC) as long as the student meets all the criteria set forth by the college. The class is worth 5 credit hours. Students do NOT have to be dual enrolled to take the course. In Calculus 2nd quarter, we will start our discussion on derivatives and their application in the real world. For more information about the dual credit on: http://www.jccc.edu/collegenow/

Testing Center Website: http://www.jccc.edu/testing/

Students planning on taking Calculus in the Fall of 2017, will need to complete the following assignment before returning to school: Calculus Summer Assignment (pdf, 79.93KB)

College Algebra is also offered for dual credit through JCCC. The class is worth 3 credit hours and students may enroll in the course as long as they meet JCCC criteria. Students are required to purchase the textbook for this course and the information about it can be found on the course syllabus. During the 2nd quarter we will be: solving equations and discussing patterns and sequences.
