Current Production

What is art?  What is theatre?  These questions have unique answers depending on the person being asked.  The SHHS Theatre Department’s spring play production will cause the viewer to confront their own, as well as society’s, views on these questions.

Museum, by Tina Howe, is a day-in-the-life, experiential play about a contemporary art gallery.  Within the play the view experiences the art itself as well as all of the different characters of our world and how they experience the same art.  The characters and experiences we share together in this play are funny and entertaining, while at the same time illustrating the polarizing nature of what constitutes “good” art, and in our case, theatre.  Through our experience we also get to see how we react to the new, different, and misunderstood facets of our lives for better or worse.

Auditions for the production are January 31st, with rehearsals starting on February 5th.  The SHHS Theatre students will be working hard over the next two months to bring this challenging and rewarding play to life.

Make plans now to see our production of the unique, funny, and thought-provoking play Museum April 6th and 7th at 7:00pm in the SHHS auditorium.

This production is rated PG and will be enjoyed by ages 10 and up.
