Semester 1 Projects

Christmas in October Project

On October 2, a cold, windy morning, sixteen volunteers woke up early to get out and help the community. The volunteers got up really early after homecoming, to help a fellow citizen. This shows great leadership and character. With Christmas in October we were able to help our friend, the homeowner, with work such as painting and landscaping. They met at 8:45 am the morning and got everything in order for our day of work before walking over to the homeowner’s house.

Some of them volunteers used their muscles to cut down a large trees and branches. They took chainsaws and cut the tree in large pieces. Then, they loaded the lumber into a bed of a truck and was sent to get burned. On the other hand, many got out their paintbrushes and whitewashed the siding of the house. Back and forth they went until it was all done. The house looked almost brand new when it was finished.

Everyone was dedicated to give all their efforts to make this house better for the home owner to live in. They never spent a single second wasting their time. The homeowner was thankful for all the work we put into her house. We were all very happy to be part of this project for this woman and putting a happy feeling into her heart. Thank you all who helped with the Christmas in October project. We greatly appreciate your help!
