The Spring Hill High School Marching Broncos are headed to Hawaii. We are proud of our Bronco band for being the band selected to represent the state of Kansas in this 80th anniversary commemoration of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

The band will leave Spring Hill on Sunday, December 5th and return just after midnight on December 10th. On Monday they will perform at the USS Missouri. The big event is Tuesday, when they will take part in a mass performance with the U.S. Marine Corp Band, then they will march in the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade.

In addition to their performances, they will get a chance to experience Hawaii. They will take an island tour of Oahu, spend time on Waikiki Beach and experience a luau.

Band director Dan Wooge knows that the best part of trips like this is for students to experience new things that they might not have otherwise been able to. "Somebody changed my life when I was in high school, through travel, and just opened up my eyes to so many different things. I think that travel and getting out of your hometown and experiencing new people in new places is probably one of the most important parts of education."
