SHHS dominated the month of April at their regional and state competitions.

In vocal performance, Destiny, Madrigals, the Madrigal Men, the Madrigal Women, and soloists Malorie Kuker, Matthew Naylor and Payton Womble earned "I" ratings at their regional solo and small ensemble contest April 14, which qualified them all for the state competition in Larned.

At state on April 28, the Madrigal Men, Madrigal Women, Malorie Kuker and Matthew Naylor received "I" ratings.

The Chamber Orchestra received a “I” rating at the solo and small ensemble regional contest April 14, qualifying them for the state competition for the second year in a row. In addition, soloists Lucy Kuhn, Stephen Mitchell, Angelo Shekhar, Julia Bigus, and Kris Nelson-Brantley also qualified for the state competition.

Also in Larned April 28, the Chamber Orchestra and all of Spring Hill’s qualifying orchestra soloists received “I” ratings.

The following band members qualified for the state solo and small ensemble competition at their regional contest: Miranda Versaw, Dean Diviney, Caleb Niehoff, the percussion quintet of Lucy Kuhn, Lily Kuhn, Stephen Mitchell, and Ty Larson, Garrett Barlow, Kennedy Mounce, Ciara Arnold, Kelsey Williams, Cadence Wooge, Dustin Campbell, Emily Shields, and the trumpet trio of Caleb Niehoff, Dustin Campbell, and Logan Smoot.

Receiving “I” ratings at state were the trumpet trio of (Caleb, Dustin, and Logan), Kennedy, Caleb (solo), Dustin  (solo), Emily, Kelsey, Miranda, Cadence, Dean, and the percussion ensemble (Lucy, Malorie, and Stephen). The percussion ensemble received a rare PERFECT 80 points!

On April 17, the full Bronco Band also received a “I” rating at their state large group competition at JC Harmon.
