Congratulations to SHHS 2017 Fall Homecoming King and Queen Nick Barnett and Hailey Lovetinsky!

Candidates were nominated by the senior class and voted upon by the entire student body.  Other candidates included Nathan Ewing, Mason Bell, Trajan McCormick, Bre Bigger, Chandler Davis, and Majesta Dixon. Coronation took place during halftime at the varsity football game on Friday, Sept. 22 against Baldwin.

Mason and Chandler
Mason Bell
played baseball his freshman year and has been on the track team the last two years, having won regionals last year with his team. He has participated in wrestling three years, earning runner up (2nd) in league his junior year. He has been on the football team four years. He was honored as 1st Team All-League and 1st Team Tri County as a junior. Outside of school Mason enjoys motocross racing and water sports with family and friends. He is planning to attend Pitt State next year to pursue a bachelor’s degree in construction management. 

Chandler Davis has been on the Principal’s Honor Roll all four years. She is a member of National Honor Society, currently serving as Vice President. She played basketball for three years and was on the varsity golf team for two years.  Chandler has been a member of SADD for two years, FCA for three years, and Hype Squad for two years. She has participated in FFA for one year and has been a LINKS leader for two years. Chandler plans to attend Baker University but is currently undecided on a major.

Nathan and HaileyNathan Ewing has played varsity basketball for three years and varsity football for three years. He has been on the varsity track team for three years, qualifying for state twice and placing at the state tournament last year. Nathan is a LINKS leader and has been on the honor roll for three years. Nathan plans to attend a 4-year school to play football or track.

Hailey Lovetinsky has played volleyball for four years and basketball for four years. She ran track her freshman year and was in PALS her junior year. She is a part of the LINKS crew and has been in FCA for four years. Hailey plans to play basketball in college and major in exercise science.

Trajan and Majesta
Trajan McCormick
currently has a 3.8 GPA and is a member of FCA and PALS. He was a LINKS leader for two years. Trajan has played varsity football for three years and varsity wrestling since freshman year. He is undecided on a college but plans to study design and marketing.

Majesta Dixon is the current student body Vice President and Hype Squad President. She is  LINKS leader and was a coordinator for the SHIBT tournament. She is also a member of FCA. Majesta played golf two years and participated in track three years. She is undecided on a school but plans to study nursing.

Nick and BreonnaNick Barnett is a member of the SHHS Thespian Society. He had starring roles in the school’s productions of “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” and “Arsenic and Old Lace.” Nick currently serves as the senior class vice president and is credited for headlining the first ever “PromMania” in 2017. Nick plans to become a professional wrestler and headline Wrestlemania but is also open to attending college in the future.

Breonna Bigger was on the Principal’s Honor Roll her junior year and is a member of National Honor Society. She is the current secretary/treasurer of FCCLA and is involved in the school musical. Bre has played soccer all four years and served as a boys’ soccer manager for three years. She participated in the Powder Puff football game her junior and senior years. She was also a model in the Natalie M Foundation Fashion Show her junior year. Bre currently plans to attend the University of Kansas to major in psychology to become a clinical child psychologist.
