Homecoming Candidates

Congratulations to our 2020 Fall Homecoming King and Queen candidates as nominated by their classmates. Queen candidates are Kyra Fuchs, Mallory Putnam, Jalyn Stevenson, and Izzy Williams. King candidates are Denver Gardner, Evan Letellier, Cody Powell, and Chase Wilm.

Coronation of the king and queen will take place during halftime of the football game against Ottawa Friday, Sept. 18.

Biographies for each of the candidates are shown below.

fuchs wilmKyra Fuchs has been a part of the Student Council all four years of high school and is currently the Student Council President. She has been a #ZeroReasonsWhy teen council member, a member of the National Honor Society, a leader of the PALS peer helping program, a SHIBT hostess, and will be a junior staff member for HOBY this upcoming summer. Kyra will be attending the University of Nebraska at Kearney and will be majoring in Psychobiology. She will be on the Pre-Med track and is excited to study abroad throughout her college years.

Chase Wilm has been a member of the Broncos Football Team all 4 years of high school, and has lettered 2 of those years. He has also been a member of the Broncos Baseball Team all 4 years of high school. He is a LINKS leader, was elected to be part of PALS his sophomore year, and an honor roll student. Chase is undecided on where he will attend college but plans on pursuing football or baseball at the collegiate level, and will major in sports marketing.

 

putnam powellMallory Putnam has been on the varsity soccer team for 3 years and was on the varsity volleyball team for 2 years. She is involved in the National Honors Society, Student Publications, Student Council, is a Links leader, and an honor roll student. Mallory plans on majoring in communication disorders to become a pediatric speech and language pathologist. She is undecided about which school, but is hoping to attend a college in Colorado and continue her soccer career. 

Cody Powell has been involved in Bronco track, football, and basketball. He has also served on the SHHS Student Council as well as been a PAL peer helper. Cody has been a member of the volunteer club as well. He is undecided about his future plans, but hopes to enter the medical field.

 

stevenson gardnerJalyn Stevenson has played varsity volleyball for 4 years and varsity soccer for 3 years. She earned all-league first team honors in volleyball both sophomore and junior year, as well all league first team in soccer her junior year. Jalyn was trained as a PAL peer helper her junior year, and is an honor roll student. She was recently recognized as a 2020 AVCA Under Armor All-America watch list for volleyball. Jalyn is committed to Washburn University to play volleyball and will study Business Administration.

Denver Gardner has been on the Principal honor roll for 4 years. He has played varsity football for three years and participated in varsity wrestling for three years. He was selected as a second team in all league football. Denver plans to play football in college and major in Chemical Engineering or Pre-Med.

 

williams letellierIzzy Williams is a 3 year principal honor roll student, a 2 year SPUB member, and a trained PALS peer helper. She has been a 4 year varsity tennis member, and was number one singles state qualifier in the fall of 2019.  Izzy is also a 2 year varsity track member, a 6-time state qualifier, a 4-time state placer and holds 4 SHHS school track records. She is a State Runner up and State Champion in the 200 meter dash.  Izzy plans to attend Kansas State University in the fall to major in Interior Design.

Evan Letellier is a 4 year member of the football, basketball, and track teams. Evan has played varsity football and ran varsity track for 3 years, he has also played varsity basketball for 2 years. Evan was recently recognized in the Top 25 Sports in Kansas players watchlist as a Quarterback and Wide Receiver. Evan plans to play football at the collegiate level and major in the field of engineering. However, he has not yet decided what school he will be attending next fall.
